Message from Mrs. Faulkner in Pre-K - We could use the following for some of our upcoming projects: the paper towel tubes by Monday, March 26.  Thanks so much!

Red Clover Workshops -On Monday, March 26, grades K-6 will participate in a morning of workshops inspired by five of this year's "Red Clover" selections, ten fiction and non-fiction picture books chosen by a committee of Vermont teachers, librarians and authors.  Students will rotate through five different classrooms in multi-age groups for  a 30 min. activity or project related to each book.  Thanks to Mrs. B, Ms. Denoya, Mrs. Mayo, Ms. Collins and Mrs. Kaija for collaborating on this rich, integrated learning experience,

For Family Convenience - Summer is Coming - We will be creating a "Google Doc" and link on our website for summer camps to consider.  Here are two that Lisa Kaija has requested that I highlight this week:

"Mountains and Rivers Forever" Summer Camp--August 6-12, 2018.  Join a group of ten 11-15-year-olds for seven straight days of outdoor fun.  This camp will be based at Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park, but will spend time on the Appalachian Trail hiking (one overnight) and the Ottauquechee and Connecticut Rivers kayaking and canoeing (two overnights).  Price is $300 for the week, partial scholarships available. Please speak with Mrs. Kaija for more information or e-mail Kat Robbins at krobbins@wcsu.net for an application.


Reading alumni of this camp include Oliver, Lauren and Abby Kaija; Chance Nunan, Mason Harkins, Robby Macri, Eli Mitchell, Sophie Noel and Emma Windish. 

OTHER WAYS TO HELP READING SCHOOL   
  • Help drive students to swim lessons when it's your child's class time to go!
  • Volunteer to come in and read with students!
