Dear Reading Elementary "Rockets" Families & Community Members:


The playground has deep snow, and sadly there might be more.  Snow boots, snow pants, and of course, winter coats are still the dress code for the playground.  Thanks for your help with this!

Message from Mrs. Morton, our Music/Band Teacher - The students did an amazing job at the WCSU Band Showcase on Wed. night.  Here is a video on the website soon.  Congrats to the students who participated:  Matthew - Clarinet; Evie - Clarinet; Jeremy - Saxophone; Joey - Saxophone; Olivia - Trumpet; Brody- Percussion.   If anyone has photos to share, please e-mail them!  

Jump Rope for Heart  -  Please read this letter about the upcoming plans for Jump Rope for Heart.  

Summer SOAK - It's that time of year again! Here is the current information. on the SU website and the Program Offerings.  Hard copies are available at school if you want them.  Scholarship Links are here.

Message from Mrs. Faulkner in Pre-K - We could use the following for some of our upcoming projects: paper towel tubes and small boxes of any kind (no larger than 12”x12”). We would like the boxes by Monday, March 19 and the paper towel tubes by Monday, March 26.  Thanks so much!

Bullying Puppets in Education Field Trip - Our students have a wonderful field trip for our students on Wed., March 21 which was rescheduled from December.  We will participate as follows unless there is a 2 hr. delay and then it will be rescheduled again.
  • K/2 - 8 -9 AM Bully Prevention & Feelings (Leave at 7:45 AM)
  • Gr. 5/6 - 9:05 AM -  10:15 AM - Bully Prevention Workshop (Leave at 8:45 AM)
  • Gr. 3/4 10:20 - 11:20 AM - Bully Prevention & Learning Differences (Leave at 10:15 AM)   Gr. 3/4 will have recess when they return.  

All teachers will attend with their classes and parents are welcome.  Bus transportation is provided.    This is paid for through a grant.  

Attention 6th Grade Parents:

OTHER WAYS TO HELP READING SCHOOL   
  • Help drive students to swim lessons when it's your child's class time to go!
  • Volunteer to come in and read with students!
