RES PRINCIPAL'S BLOG - ROCKETS REPORT - Sun., Jan. 1, 2017

Dear Reading Elementary "Rockets" Families & Community Members:

I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday vacation with friends and family!  We're always amazed at how much the students "grow" during the time they were away!

Time to head back to school and routines!  We will see you Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 7:45 AM.

Kudos and heartfelt thanks to:
  • Everyone who donated to the the PTO December Raffle!
  • Everyone who bought tickets for the raffle!
Other Items of Interest:

Attendance Counts - It's a new year and a perfect time for a fresh start! Minutes really do add up, so please help your student by having them in the building no later that 7:45 AM ready to start the day.

Act 46 Study Committee - The committee will be meeting again Wed., Jan. 4, from 6:30 - 8 PM at the WCSU Central Office. Hope you'll join us!

Ski Runners - Starts this week. We will send home a reminder with your students with details Wed. afternoon. We will have activities at school for any students not participating.

Are You An RES Alumni? - Our library media/tech classes are participating in a project based learning which they have titled the oxymoron, "Wasted Time."  (For those of you who don't know, it's a country song that represents their thoughts.)  They are conducting a survey and creating a digital living history to represent the past and present of Reading Elementary School and we need your help!   Did you attend Reading Elementary School?  Do you know someone who did?  If you did, then please complete the survey and ask other alumni, to complete the attached SURVEY. Students will be researching their town and school history and preserving it digitally. Check out what we've done so far at RES PAST AND PRESENT. Since holidays bring older students home, it's a great time to do it!
