RES PRINCIPAL'S BLOG - ROCKETS REPORT - Sun., Oct. 29, 2017

Dear Reading Elementary "Rockets" Families & Community Members:

This past Friday was a crazy, mismatched day in so many ways!  The students and staff were so thoughtful and original about how they dressed and the crazy hats they wore!

Kudos and heartfelt thanks to:
  • The parents who turned in their raffle tickets and money on time.
  • Everyone who has their lunch bills current!
Other Items of Interest:

Halloween - Thank you for helping us keep the focus on learning by not having students wear costumes, masks, or anything unusual on Tuesday during the school day.  On Wednesday, we ask that students NOT being candy to school UNLESS you pack their their lunch and include one piece.  We've had this discussion with students already.

Congratulations - As stated in the blog, the drawing of the pumpkin raffle tickets happened during morning meeting on Friday.  Thank you to all of you who participated!  Below is a picture of the pumpkins that were decorated by each class.

PTO Help - The PTO will be having their annual Pie Sale on Sat., Nov. 18 followed by the 1st annual Chili Cook-Off.  Help is needed from the community and parents to make this happen.  On Fri., Nov. 17, students will be baking pies, and need assistance assembling them.  We start at 2:30 and manage to make over 100 pies for sale.   If you can come in Fri., afternoon and assist the students, please contact Sherry Hatt.

Thanksgiving Community Dinner - The annual RES Thanksgiving Community Dinner will occur, Tue., Nov. 21.  Mrs. Knight is the lead contact this year and she could really use some helpers.  A donation list will be posted in the lobby as well as a way to sign up on line if you'd like.  Please contact Sherry Hatt if you'd like to assist with this.

Pictures - School pictures were sent home last week.  Retakes are this Wed. Forms are coming home on Monday.
